  • Surveys to Help Our School

Public Consulting Group (PCG) has been contracted by Silver State Charter School to conduct a diagnostic review of the school and its programs and to provide a report on those findings in an effort to improve student success. Part of this process involves surveying staff, parents and students to collect their thoughts and opinions on matters important to the school and the students’ education.

Your opinion matters! Thank you for taking this survey and sharing your opinion to inform the Diagnostic School Review of Silver State Charter School.

The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and contains questions about: Classroom Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment; School Culture and Climate; Family and Community Engagement; and School Leadership and School Management.

You answers will be confidential—they will only be read by PCG Education staff and reported as part of group averages.

    We Did It!
Silver State Charter Schools has completed negotiations on a settlement with the Nevada State Pubic Charter School Authority (SPCSA) to keep the school open and to receive a renewal of our charter!  Thank you for your support and encouragement!  We're also very appreciative of all of the people who put so much time and effort into negotiating the settlement.  Onwards and upwards!
Summer school schedules and enrollment materials will be available late this week. Both a distance learning and an onsite program will be offered at a fee.  No bus transportation nor meals will be served.  The programs will offer students a great opportunity to accelerate their learning or participate in credit recovery or remediation.  The program is open to SSCS and other area students.
The week of 5/2-5/6 is End of Course testing only. All students who are not participating in testing will work from home.  Six hours of work on the computer daily is the expectation, along with teacher contact in order to prove attendance to the state.  Thanks for your cooperation!
Jump Start Testing...WNC will be here Tuesday, May 24th from 8-1 for Jump Start testing for students interested in pursuing a college Associate's degree, along with their high school diploma. Requirements for entering the Jump Start program at WNC include the following:  A minimum of a C- or better in the first semester Of Algebra II to take the WNC Acuplacer Test.  If they get a 5 or better on the Acuplacer and are accepted by you into the Jump Start program, we'll have them enroll in Communications 101, Educational Psychology 150, Math 126, English 101 and History 101.  They'll need a minimum grade of C- in both semesters to remain enrolled in Math 126.
    Happy Spring, Everyone!

No Thursday School Bus Runs

Because of the senior luncheon, school will close at noon on Thursday, 5/19.  Buses will not run this day. Because students don't come in until 11:00am, they will not be on campus at all - unless they make special arrangements with a teacher.

Buses will not run on Thursday, 5/26 either. This is the last day of school and students have to have their work turned in by 11:00pm on Wednesday, 5/25.  No students will be on campus.
